Video Man Hitting Dog At Thanes Vetic Pet Clinic Surfaces Online Staff Arrested

Mumbai: Vetic Pet Clinic in Thane West was forced to close down following public outrage over a video that circulated online, showing staff members assaulting a pet dog at their grooming center. The incident drew condemnation from animal lovers and activists, prompting authorities to take action. Two individuals involved in the cruel treatment of the pet and recording the incident were subsequently arrested.

Videos of the arrests made by the Thane police have emerged online, although the names of the arrested individuals have not been disclosed. The pet clinic has also been ordered to cease operations.

The incident occurred earlier this month when the pet’s owner left the dog at the Thane-based clinic while they celebrated their wedding. They had availed of the boarding services at the facility, unaware of the mistreatment that would unfold.

According to The Free Press Journal report, the pet owner only became aware of the incident after the video surfaced, revealing the extent of cruelty inflicted upon their beloved dog. Prompt action was taken, and the dog has since been relocated to PetAshram, a pet boarding service in Thane, where it is reported to be recovering.

In response to the incident The Vetic Pet Clinic issued a statement and said, “This is a deeply disturbing incident involving a pet and 2 of our groomers. As pet parents and animal lovers, this is shocking and completely unacceptable to us. As a first step, we have immediately terminated both of them and launched a formal investigation into this. We are also working alongside the authorities and have initiated police action in this matter.”
